Any senior , sick, injured or tame cats are rescued immediately and brought to our vets for unlimited treatment. Every cat matters. My mission is to try to make up for the neglect and trauma they have gone thru. We never leave tame cats on the streets
Once treated at vet they come to either fosters or our little sanctuary to recover. If they end up becoming adoptable, we do everything in our power to personally find wonderful homes for them, with home checks and followups.
If they are too frail, senior / handicapped , hospice, and or with chronic health conditions, they stay with us in our little sanctuary for the rest of their lives.
Any tame cats who find our feeding stations, are immediately rescued and we try our best to find owners. If none are found we will try to find homes for these kitties.
A few years ago we started our FELV Project. Usually FELV positive kitties are euthanized immediately, even if they appear healthy. We opened a separate area for them to see how they would do. To our surprise they are thriving! They have an outside protected patio just for them so they can nap in the Sun, chase bugs and be cats.
We are not an adoption center. We only rescue the ones who would otherwise suffer on the streets or be put to sleep due to illness age or injuries.
We TNR all cats at our feed stations and of course any cat in our care.
We operate solely on donations and my earnings from petsitting.

For thirty years, Anni Skovgaard Jensen, founder and CEO of Street Cats Care and Rescue, has been dedicated to those cats who would otherwise be put to sleep or die alone on the streets. Many of these homeless cats aren’t feral. They are cats that have been abandoned, lost, or dumped outside by former owners. They are terrified and struggling to stay alive. Many are blind, old, frail or ill.
We rescue them from the streets, get them medical care, lots of love, good nutrition, a warm bed and a peaceful home. We make up for the hardships they have suffered. We foster them until we can find them true forever homes. Some have limited time left due to the hardships of living on the streets. We give them care so that their last memory is not of being homeless and alone, but of being loved, safe and warm...having a home and knowing that they matter.
We have 16 feeding stations (colonies) around Las Vegas, feeding and caring for 100+ feral ( all have been spayed/ neutered), homeless cats nightly. We rescue many of our Street Cats from our colonies. We also rescue cats from our local city shelter when their time has run out because no one wants them; they're sick, injured, traumatized or senior in age. It’s thrilling to watch these cats blossom once they realize they're wanted, safe, cared for and loved. Their will to live is so strong.
We get the tame cats off the streets immediately and try to locate owners through microchips and web posts...if the owners aren't found, we foster them until we find them loving, forever homes. The hostile street environment is no place for any cat let alone those that have lived any portion of their lives in a home.
What we believe with our whole hearts is that they ALL matter 💖
We strive to create as much of a home environment as possible for our cats. They all have outside areas with trees bushes and grass, where they can nap in the sun, chase bugs and be cats.

We have separate areas for different cats: one area for the feral's (the feral cats who were not making it on the streets). They have a large yard with a wood trellis to provide shade, trees, bushes, cat houses and toys throughout. They also have 24/7 access to the indoors with heating and AC, plenty of beds, cat trees and bird song.
Our frailest cats are in the main area, where they have access to an outside yard with patio, bushes, trees, trailing vines and plenty of room to soak up the sun and be cats.
We have feline AIDS cats (FIV) and feline leukemia (FeLV) cats who are ordinarily euthanized because they're considered un adoptable. This program has been a success since it's inception a few years ago. We're looking to expand it to help save more lives. Our immunocompromised cats have their own separate area and bathroom with an outside catio with trellis, cat trees and toys.
Our rescue is kept peaceful; I've attempted to create as much of a home setting as possible for the cats rehabilitation.
Our future plans include a much larger facility to safely house as many cats as possible. We receive no government funding. We rely solely on the generous donations of our supporters to continue our mission, protecting and caring for the hundreds of cats we’ve helped since 1993.

There are so many more cats who need our help. It sometimes seems like a daunting challenge. Yet, we must keep moving forward. We hope you will join us in our fight to save those who otherwise wouldn't stand a chance.
Our newest project is Seniors For Seniors, matching our cats with senior people, who would like companionship and a soft furry friend. This project is a success, with lots of love and happiness being given on both sides. In this program we take the cat to any future vet visits and incur all costs. If the match doesn't work out at any time, for any reason, we will pick up the kitty with no guilt given. All our senior fosters provide is food, litter and LOVE!
We require a home check, that the cat will remain an INDOOR cat for life and welfare checks via calls, emails and visits. We take our responsibility to each cat very seriously.
Fostering saves lives. Please contact us via our form to inquire further about our program or for ways you can help. You can also message us on Facebook Messenger, as well.
This tiny nugget was found by a concerned bystander at an auto repair shop. The finder called SCCR who found a foster so that little Indy (his name) could be safe and loved while growing up. He will be neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before going for adoptions in a few weeks.
Meet Eloise. She was underweight and fading fast at the local shelter. She was taken in by SCCR, placed with a foster where she is now gaining weight, strength and sassiness! She will be up for adoption in a few weeks.
George was confiscated by animal control from a neglectful home, owned by unkind people. He was headed for euthanasia but he has so much love to give. He slowly emerged from his shell, showing his loving and playful side. He's now with his forever foster living the life he so deserves.
Banksy was rescued at the last moment from the city shelter. She was frail and old so a candidate for their euthanasia list. She is feeling much better today with the love and care she needs, wants and deserves at Street Cats Care and Rescue.
Benjamin, rescued as a kitten with a broken jaw. He was about to be euthanized by the city shelter. He's now in his forever home, loved and pampered for life.
Gemini is one of our feLV cats living a full and happy life. Normally, people give up on cats with FeLV but they can, and DO, lead long lives. We set out to prove FeLV didn't have to be a death sentence.
